Review by Brian Cady

Apparently, you need to give Roger a couple of days at the beach before he does a show. He was tanned and his voice was in the best form I've heard so far this tour.

Pete told about how he'd had to have his hand worked on when he was last in Atlanta in 2000. "They reattached my hand. My job tonight is to detach it again." He did his damndest. Windmill after windmill after windmill.

Pete also introduced Rabbit's audio tech and said Rabbit had told him his wife was close to the end. "But as soon as she's passed away, Rabbit will be back!"

Gwinnett Arena was about 3/4 to 7/8 full. On the floor practically no one sat down during the new stuff and everyone was up and pumping their fists during everything else. The band was in high spirits, it fed the crowd, who fed it back to the band. Everyone was having a great time.

Much better singing by Pete on "Endless Wire" with lots of new inflection.

During "You Better You Bet," a teenage boy ran on stage and started dancing. Security snatched him up and carried him off.

My Generation was really long with most of Cry If You Want Sung plus lots of guitar work and back-and-forth from Rog and Pete.

During the Tommy encore, Roger was twirling his microphone like crazy. At one point, he was spinning it so fast, you could hear Zak's cymbals going whup-whup-whup-whup through the mike.

God, I well up during Tea & Theatre. Talk about a song "that makes men cry."

All in all about a hundred times better than Madison Square Garden, night one.

And did I mention The Pretenders? They were s**t-hot; so much so that I worried they'd top the Who! The Who bested them but the whole evening was like a masterclass in rock 'n' roll.

Thanks to Max, his lovely wife and daughter, Julie, Bruce K., the Starke Bros. and all the others before and after for sharing a truly great evening.

Tonight in Atlanta we were absolutely thrilled by what we witnessed! It was an amazing night full of emotional highs more so that have been previously experienced.

Here are hilights & thoughts from tonight's show.

-Right from the start you could tell the enthusiasm from the crowd was extreme, that expressed itself thru out the night.

-Pete's windmills during ICE & AAA were numerous & explosive.

-Pete slid across Roger on his knees during WGFA & put his hands together in prayer when Roger sang "and i get on my knees & pray"- unlike anything we've ever seen in Who history! And this was just one of many things we've never seen before at a Who concert.

-Another moment during MG , Pete stood on top of a monitor & lipped angry words (unknown at press time, lol) at the crowd that was as vicious as I've ever seen...it went on forever.

-The windmills by Pete were a record breaking in numbers - easily!

-Pete punched his guitar strings angrily during a song that is NOT called for..which, I almost think YBYB.

-Roger swung his mic 4 times during pinball wizard...never saw this before ever

-Roger swung his mic more during this show than I've witnessed in many years.

-During "Tea & Theater", Roger's mic did not work, so Roger threw his mic down & started stomping on it & spilling the liquid in his tea mug...very angrily.

-We've seen this alot recently. But the standing ovation for BOR was overwhelmingly long, loud, and never ending.

-Pete & Roger both interacted, smiled, and played off each other all night long

-The crowd was 100% receptive, thrilled,& energized from start to finish, including during W&G- standing at every seat in the arena,
which ignited Pete & Roger.

-This is the most standing ovations I have ever seen at any of the 30+ Who shows I've been to.

-The energy between Pete & Roger & Zak & the rest of the band was something to be seen to be believed. The interaction between the band & the audience is something not seen in many years.  The connection between us & them was unparallel to any show ever experienced before.

-We interviewed over 60 fans, and they all thought it was the best concert ever!

-Ultimately this evening proved that Pete & Roger were more emotionally involved in this particular show that we've ever witnessed before. And I feel this was mutually driven by the energy & bond between the band & the audience.

I am missing a hundred things that you will not believe when you see the DVD!

Marc with contributions from Rob & Mike

p.s.- This show had a spiritual high that we have never quite witnessed before that was ultimately very special.

Review by Genevieve Hay

All I can say is WOW. Just got settled in the hotel room, but I doubt I'll be sleeping for a long time.

I've listened to a lot of this tour on Sirius, but this was the first gig I've actually seen. All of the songs seemed especially different tonight, including an insane My Generation! Roger did the extended “Hope I die before I get olds" that Pete normally does, and then they just went nuts. I was in shock  There was a really, really long continuous part of CIYW as well...great!

I was on the floor in F5, E11, and from there, the mix seemed perfect. Roger's voice, which I was sort of worried about, sounded great all night, way higher and stronger than it seems when all the background noise has been stripped away on the encore CDs or on Sirius.

Pete was on FIRE, although he did seem to have guitar problems during Sparks, right before the Birdman would have taken place. After a few seconds of tuning, he went right back and it was FANTASTIC. Somehow, right before See, Me, Feel Me, he literally twirled off the problematic red Strat and ended his spin with the new guitar safely over his shoulders. Very cool . Unfortunately, it was slightly harder to see Pete than Roger; there was about a 6'2" guy standing in his direction, and I'm only 5'2". Thank goodness for tall shoes!

The setlist was the same as Florida and most of the other gigs, but who cares? As for Can't Explain - I can't think of a better opener, and all the new stuff seemed to fit in well. A lot of people sat down, but not too many in our area. The venue looked very close to being sold out - a great feat for the day before Thanksgiving!! Only two people on the floor seemed to get up and leave during MIAPD, but a lot of people left before Tea & Theatre because it took the band a while to get going. I think Roger's mike broke; he switched microphones really quickly and ended up spilling his tea all over the place, then stomped on the broken mike. It was great.

Every song was fantastic, although now I'm somewhat nervous to see how it really sounds on record; if it's even half as good, I'll be very, very happy. I don't know if I'll ever get off this endless, endless musical high.
